9 Greater Cincinnati breweries with patios and rooftops

It's officially outdoor drinking season.

Thanks to the city's vibrant brewery scene, Cincinnati has lots of options for people who want to sip on a craft beer while soaking up some sun on a rooftop or patio.

Here are nine breweries in Greater Cincinnati with great outdoor spaces, as well as notes about dog-friendliness and other highlights.

Craft beer lovers will find ample outdoor seating and a large turf area for games at Sonder Brewing in Mason. Chow down on Creole cuisine-inspired dishes provided by the brewery's food partner, BrewRiver.

Besides beer, customers can also enjoy beermosas, beer cocktails, wine and bourbon.

8584 Duke Blvd., Mason. Open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Braxton Brewing is a year-round Covington hotspot, but come summertime it turns into a rooftop drinking destination. The taproom boasts 27 rotating beers, wines and cocktails, so you're bound to find something you like.

Food-wise, guests can take advantage of the brewery's partnership with Dewey's Pizza. Braxton's rooftop is kid-friendly until 7 p.m., and little ones are welcome in the taproom until 9 p.m. Your furry friends can also join you on the taproom's main floor until 9 p.m., but not on the roof.

27 W. Seventh St., Covington. Open Monday 3 to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 pm.

Out with the ice skating rink, in with sand volleyball and cornhole! Fifty West makes the most out of its sprawling outdoor space with dodgeball, soccer, pickleball and more.

After you've worked up an appetite, indulge in one of many creative burgers and creamy milkshakes at the Burger Barn.

7605 US 50, Columbia Township. Open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 pm.

Feeling outdoorsy? Guests at Little Miami Brewing Co. can sip on a pint while looking at views of the Little Miami Scenic River, and have easy access to the bike trail and nearby canoe and kayak rentals.

Dogs are allowed in the brewery's patio and outdoor area, but not inside the taproom.

208 Mill St., Milford. Open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The rooftop at Rhinegeist has great city views, lots of seating and an array of beers and ciders. Cocktails and wine from Revel OTR are also available for non-beer lovers.

1910 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine. Open Monday through Thursday 3 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 1 a.m. and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.

For a unique outdoor drinking experience, look no further than Fibonacci Brewing. This nanobrewery and urban farm has chickens, goats, an onsite Airbnb and uses local ingredients in at least 90% of its beers.

1445 Compton Road, Mount Healthy. Wednesday and Thursday 5 to 10 p.m., Friday 3 to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

East of Cincinnati is another popular spot for summertime drinks. Mt. Carmel Brewing provides a beautiful outdoor backdrop while you sip the day away.

Besides craft beer, house-made seltzers, wine and cocktails, the brewery also has its own scratch kitchen and offers brunch on Sundays.

4362 Mt. Carmel-Tobasco Road, Mount Carmel. Open Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BrewDog Cincinnati in Pendleton has games, 24 taps of craft beer and a rooftop to enjoy. Dogs can join in on the fun outside, and the brewery is kid-friendly until 9 p.m.

316 Reading Road, Pendleton. Open Monday through Thursday noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Satruday noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

Knox Joseph Distillery at the OTR StillHouse is an all-in-one craft distillery, brewery, restaurant and indoor/outdoor performance venue, so naturally it's got a great outdoor space. Catch a show, compete in trivia or play cornhole while you enjoy a wide variety of drinks.
